Hope. Advent Day 11. December 11, 2013.

Sometimes I feel that I am just floating through life.
I am doing everything but it all seems to go nowhere.
Sometimes I feel like I just seem to circle back to the same starting point.
Regardless of how hard I try,
I end up feeling discouraged.
The day in and day out stuff,
it feels monotonous.
I don’t want monotony,
I want to feel like I am building the kingdom of God
and fulfilling His will.

I think there is a reason
that we push forward through this monotony.
There is a greater good
and a greater glory.
Maybe we don’t see it yet,
but we know it is there.
That is what we call hope.

Life might be too much
but there is hope.
Hope that your day will get better,
hope that things will turn around,
hope that we can find joy in suffering.
Hope.
Hope.
Hope.

Sometimes I think it is what drives us as humans.

Life sucks right now but I hope…

But hope is more than just desiring something better.

We…might be strongly encouraged to hold fast to the hope that lies before us.
This we have as an anchor of the soul,
sure and firm,
which reaches into the interior
and behind the veil where Jesus has entered
on our behalf as forerunner,
becoming high priest forever.
Hebrews 6:18-20

There is a reason that hope is our driving force.
It is the anchor for our souls.

It is sure
and it is firm,
even when all else is falling apart.

This hope reaches great places.
Reaches to the sacrifice that Christ made on our behalf.

When it feels like all is lost,
there is nothing left,
you’ve made so many circles you’re dizzy.
Hold fast hope.

It will anchor your wandering soul.

  1. The entire first paragraph completely echos the awakening moments that I oft experience...and yet I trudge on. The moment I shrug off these moments, and enter into prayer, the doldrums flee! Why? Because of the strength that I receive to continue on...to have faith and HOPE!

    God bless!
